How do I get information about journals subscribed to by the KSU Library System?
The Library System gets subscriptions to journals and standing orders in three ways:
- Direct subscriptions of individual titles, including print and electronic format
- Direct purchase of continuing monographs through standing orders
- Indirect subscription through databases or e-journal packages
Technical Services manages the individual subscribed journals and standing orders, and maintains the two collections at the title level. For example, each print issue is maintained in collaboration with Access Services. The Serials Cataloging Librarian catalogs each title (print and electronic) to make them searchable in the library's catalog and supersedes the titles (print and electronic) in their life cycle. Technical Services sends the final list of individual subscriptions to Virtual Services after subscription renewals each year. Please contact Technical Services at firstname.lastname@example.org for the information about individual subscriptions.
Strategic Budgeting currently handles the subscriptions of database and e-journal packages. Once the databases or packages are subscribed, Virtual Services makes them available through the Find a Database List or the Journal Holdings List. The Journal Holdings List includes both print and electronic journals to which the library system has subscribed. Please contact Strategic Budgeting at email@example.com for the information about the subscribed database or e-journal packages.
