How do I get a book from the Repository?
The Library Repository is an off-site location near the Kennesaw Campus where we store all books and microfilm published before 1976. Most library books over 35 years of age are housed in the Repository. The decision to move older material was made in order to create more study space in the Sturgis Library.
If you find an item in the catalog that has a location of "Library Repository," it means that the book is stored outside of the Library and that you will need to request it. Note that Repository material can be sent to both Sturgis and Johnson Libraries, so please follow the steps for your preferred library below.
Request an Item
To request an item to be brought to Sturgis or Johnson Library for you to check out, click the title to bring up the full record for the book. Next, click the link that reads "Request Library Material" and complete the online form. Note the pickup location on the request form and choose either Marietta Campus (Johnson Library) or Kennesaw Campus (Sturgis Library). We will try to get the book to the Library within 24 hours depending on the time of your request. Once the book arrives, you will receive an email letting you know that it's at the location that you selected. You will need a current KSU ID to check out repository books.
If you have any questions, please contact the Check Out Desk at the Johnson Library (Marietta Campus) at 470-578-7276 or the Check Out Desk at the Sturgis Library (Kennesaw Campus) at 470-578-6202.
