Many students, faculty, and staff have experience using GALILEO for their research; however, SuperSearch and GALILEO are the same thing and use the same search. SuperSearch is the main search box on the library homepage ( In addition you no longer have to learn a new password each semester.  To use SuperSearch if you are off campus you will simply input your NetID and password to login.

Please note that students must be currently enrolled in classes in order to access resources off-campus. Off-campus access to library online resources requires you to be a currently enrolled student.  For access during breaks between semesters, you must also be enrolled for the upcoming semester.  If you are not, then your access will end at the close of the current semester.  For example, if you are enrolled in the Fall semester but not Spring, then your access will end at the close of Fall exams.

KSU alumni (or Friends of the Library) cannot access databases from off-campus.  A good place to try if you need database access is your public library.  Public libraries in Georgia often have access to many of the same databases as KSU such as Academic Search Complete, Business Source Complete, and eBooks on EBSCOHost.  Of course, different public libraries may offer different databases, but it's a great place to try!

SuperSearch & GALILEO

NETID: For off-campus access to most subscribed resources at KSU Libraries, you will be prompted for your NetID and password. For more information about your NetID or to activate your NetID or to change your password, please see the NetID Website. If you need assistance, contact University Information Technology Services (UITS) at 470-578-3555, by e-mail at, or in person at the Technology Annex (Building #361).

GALILEO PASSWORD: In some situations, the Galileo password will be needed.  You can look up the current password by logging in to your Library Account. Note that the Galileo password changes every semester.

Personalized Accounts:

PERSONAL ACCOUNTS: Several of our services require you to create you own personal account or register before you can use the full features of the site from off campus, or in some cases, even on campus. These include eBooks on EbscohostRIA Checkpoint, and PrivCo. RIA Checkpoint requires you to complete registration from an on-campus computer so that the service will recognize your account as associated with Kennesaw State University.

DATABASE PASSWORD: Where the database service has its own unique password and is not authenticated through the KSU proxy, our database link will display the required login information, including the password. If you are off campus as you access this look-up page, the KSU proxy will first authenticate you as a valid KSU user.
