Question

Q: What is the Bentley Rare Book Museum?

Answer

The Bentley Rare Book Museum, hosted within the KSU Dept. of Museums, Archives and Rare Books (MARB), is Georgia’s first rare book museum and the state’s third largest museum-grade rare book collection. It offers a new model for engaging with special collections through interactive, rotating exhibits, robust programming, and a focus on campus and community outreach. Founded in 1987 as a gallery, the Museum holds over 10,000 rare items that chart the history of the book in the English-speaking world.

Hours

The Museum opens to all visitors Tuesday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Researchers and tourists may also schedule an appointment by emailing rarebooks@kennesaw.edu or calling 470-578-6289.
