Q: What do the different numbers on my ID mean?

Answer

Your Talon ID card has three different ID numbers on it:

Your student ID number and campus card number are on the front of your Talon Card.

  1. Your KSU ID is a 9 digit number and is your student ID number. This number is located in the white strip in the center of your ID card, above your NetID. If you are asked to enter an institution ID, use your student ID number. KSU does not have an institutional ID.
  2. Your campus card is a 17 digit number, and can be linked to a Fifth Third Bank account so you can use your KSU ID card as a debit card. This number is located in the gold section on the front of your ID, underneath "Talon Card."
  3. Your library barcode is a 14 digit number, and the ID number that the library uses when you check out books. This number is located on the back of your ID.

Your KSU ID also includes your NetID. Your NetID is usually the same as everything before the @ in your KSU email address. You can use your NetID to log in to access library resources off campus.
