Q: Can I donate my old textbooks to the Library?
The library does not accept donations of old textbooks for addition to the library collection, however you may donate your old textbook for the Friends of the Library book sale. Donations for the FOL book sale may be left at the Check Out Desk with a note identifying them as book sale donations. Questions about book sale donations can be addressed to:
If you wish to donate books that are not textbooks to the library, you should be aware that the Library reserves the right to retain or dispose of any gift material in accordance with the Library’s Collection Development Policy and that gift materials are not automatically added to the Library collection.
It is understood that, upon receipt, gifts become the possession of Sturgis Library. The Library does not appraise gifts, provide donors with a list of donated items, count the number of items, or bookplate donated items added to the collection. However, the Library will supply a copy of a donor form to the donor as acknowledgment of the donation.
