Q: What is a database?

Databases are:

1. A collection of organized information. In the case of library databases this information is most often from journals, magazines, or newspapers, however, they can also include statistical information, videos, audio, and images.

2. Databases will often contain hundreds of journals, magazines, and/or newspapers on many topics or a single topic.

3. Databases allow a user to search through articles within the journals it contains all at once.

The KSU Library System subscribes to hundreds of different databases.  Click here to access a list or visit the Library Homepage and click on the Find a Database under the SuperSearch box.
