Q: Where do I find book reviews?

SuperSearch is a great place to find book reviews:

  1. Do a search in SuperSearch.
  2. On the left side of the results page, check the "Reviews" box under "Result Type." This will limit your results to only book reviews.

You can also find book reviews in many of our databases. Most databases will have book reviews in the particular subject area of the database. For example, if you need a book review of a science book you may want to use Science DirectJSTOR also has lots of book reviews. Use the Find a Database and find the database by name in the alphabetical list. For more information, use our "How do I find a database" FAQ.

For older books you might want to try a reference book like Book Review Index (call number: Z1035 .A1 B6) or Book Review Digest (call number Z1219 .C96). These books will list publications where reviews of books have been printed in the past. Reference items are located on the Sturgis Library 3rd Floor.
