Q: Where can I find scholarly information on my ethnicity, race or nationality?

Answer

One of the best ways to find a variety of material types (books, journal articles, videos) is to use the library SuperSearch on the library homepage. 

Put in search terms such as your ethnicity, race or nationality and the subject you are interested in--using quotation marks if necessary (examples: "african american" and music and culture OR Irish and emigration).

If you would like to browse different cultures, we have a specific database called eHRAF World Cultures that contains basic ethnographic information on many different cultures.  You can either click here to access it or visit the Library's homepage, click on "Databases by Title," select "E" and find "eHRAF World Cultures."  Once in the database, click on "Browse CULTURES" located at the top of the page.  Here you can either search or browse the list of cultures in the database.  You can also browse by region or country.
