Q: Why does Galileo respond with "Bad Request" when I try to find an article in the databases?


Depending on what's going on, it could be a problem with the database or with your web browser.

The first thing to check is your browser.  The easiest way is to switch from one browser to another. For example, if you're using Internet Explorer, try Firefox.  If you do not have another web browser on your computer, then you should do the following:

1. Clear the cache on your browser. This is an option under the Preferences.

2. Close ALL windows on your browser.

Try visiting the site again.

If clearing your browser did not work, it is more likely a problem with the database.  If you are using GALILEO's search function, you may wish to go directly into a database and try searching there.  If you are using an EBSCO database, try switching to another database, such as ProQuest and try again.  If your search works then, it is probably a problem with the database and you should try it again at a later time.
