Question

Q: What data analytical software does KSU have for faculty, staff, and students?

Answer

KSU offers the following analytical software for faculty, staff, and students:

SPSS Statistics

SPSS, Statistical Package for the Social Science, originally designed and used  for quantitative data analysis in social sciences. Now it is also popular in other fields such as health science, business, and marketing.

NOTE: All campus desktop computers have access to SPSS for currently-enrolled students. However, the library laptops, available to check out, do not have access to SPSS.

To access SPSS on a campus desktop computer do the following:

  1. Log onto any campus computer with your NetID and password
  2. Click on the Start Menu and select All Programs
  3. Select the KSU Distributed Applications folder
  4. Select the SPSS folder and open the program

SPSS software is available for students to download. The FAQ "I'm KSU faculty / staff / student. How do I download software?" will guide you through the process.

NVivo Pro Version

NVivo is software that supports qualitative and mixed methods research. It lets you collect, organize and analyze content from interviews, focus group discussions, surveys, audio, social media data, videos and web pages and other types of unstructured data. To learn more about NVivo, click here for the NVivo information guide.

KSU students, faculty, and staff can download SPSS or NVivo from the Software Download website.
