Question

Q: How do I report noise complaints in the library?

Answer

First, if you feel comfortable doing so, it's often best to simply ask the person or group to be a little quieter. Sometimes people don't realize they are being loud and will quiet down if asked.

If you have already asked or feel uncomfortable asking, go to the Check Out Desk and explain the situation. A library staff member will be glad to assist with loud patrons or groups.

The Kennesaw State University Libraries are committed to providing an environment that is conducive to study as well as welcoming to all users. Please be aware of your surroundings when talking.

  • Headphones should be worn when listening on a computer. (Headphones can be checked out at the front desk.)

  • Please be mindful of the volume of your conversation in the library; our study rooms are not soundproof.

  • Do not use the speakerphone option on your phone.

  • Please move to a more private area when placing or receiving phone calls to not disturb those around you.
