Q: I am an online student. Can you mail a book to me?
Answer
Mailing Books to Students
The Library is not able to mail books to students.
If you're in the area, you can check out books in person from KSU, or you can pick up books from any other USG institution. You can also request books from any USG institution (including KSU) by using GIL Express and have them delivered to a USG school closer to you. You should bring your student ID card with you to pick up the book.
Distance students who do not have a KSU ID card may be able to check books out with a state-issued ID at other USG schools, but should contact the library first to make sure. All students must use their KSU ID to check books out at KSU Library locations.
Returning Books by Mail
The KSU Libraries will accept returned books that are received by mail. If you choose to mail a book to us, make sure to use the correct mailing address, and address it to Attention: Access Services. Include a note with your name and KSU ID number with the book. Please package the book in a way to prevent damage such as in a bubble envelope or box. If you are mailing a book back to us, please plan ahead. You will be responsible for the book until it is received by the library, including for any late or lost book fees.
Instead of mailing a book back to us, you can also drop your KSU books off at any University System of Georgia school. Your books will be removed from your account and returned to KSU by the participating schools -- and you don't have to pay for postage!
For more information about receiving books through the mail from the KSU Library System, please refer to our Library System Material Delivery to Individuals Policy. If you have further questions you may contact the Check Out Desk at 470-578-6202.
