Question

Q: How do I request a book from another university?

Answer

If you need a book or other material that the KSU Libraries does not own, you have two options for requesting it: GIL Express or Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Both ILL and GIL Express are free for KSU students, faculty and staff!

  • Interlibrary Loan (ILL) allows KSU faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students to place requests for library materials, including books, articles, and some digital media. The KSU Libraries Resource Sharing Team partners with libraries across the country to borrow the requested material. Please note that you may not request required course texts through ILL. For more information about ILL, click here to access the interlibrary loan research guide.
  • GIL Express allows KSU faculty, staff, and currently enrolled students to request books from libraries across the University System of Georgia (USG). GIL Express may only be used for books. For more information about GIL Express, click here to access the GIL Express research guide.
