Question
Q: What is the difference between a general database and a specialized database?
Answer
General databases, such as Academic Search Complete, search articles in all types of disciplines.
Specialized databases deal with articles from a specific field, like ChemEd Digital Library for Chemistry OR PsychINFO for Psychology.
Some databases fall in between general and specialized, like ScienceDirect, which is specifically for science fields but could be biology, chemistry, physics, etc.
