Question

Q: How do I find empirical articles in PsycINFO?

Answer

Most databases will provide you with some options for limiting your results. Some common limiters include filtering results by whether they have been peer reviewed, contain the full text, and were publishing within a specified Date Range.

PsychINFO provides a limiter to filter your results only to Empirical Research. You can find PsychINFO through the "Find a Database" link on the Library Homepage.

The Find a Database link is located directly under the SuperSearch field.

In PsycINFO, navigate to "Advanced" search and select "Empirical Study" listed under the "Methodology" section.

The Advanced Search link is located directly under the main search field.

For more information check out the "Finding Empirical Articles" research guide. You can find this guide on the library homepage under the Research Guides tab.
