Question

Q: How do I access articles and databases from off-campus?

Answer

You can access most KSU Libraries resources off campus the same way you access them on campus.

From the Library Homepage:

  1. Type your search into SuperSearch and click "Search" OR click on Find a Database to select the database you want to use.

  2. You will be prompted to enter your NetID and password on the next page.

  3. After entering your NetID and password, you can search the database as you were on campus.

From D2L Brightspace:

Note that this allows you to search directly in SuperSearch or the Library Catalog only. To access a specific database, go to Find a Database instead.

  1. After logging into D2L Brightspace, look on the right side for the box labeled “KSU Library Search.”
  2. Enter your search terms into the search box and click search.
  3. You will be brought to your search results screen as if you were on campus.

Use the KSU Virtual Private Network (VPN) Service:

To learn how to use KSU's VPN service, please visit the UITS website.

Students must be currently enrolled in classes in order to access resources off campus. KSU alumni cannot access databases off campus.

If you run into issues accessing library resources off campus, please submit a library service request.
