Question

Q: Can I place a book on hold? Can you pull a book from the shelf and hold it for me to pick up?

Answer

Due to limited staff, we cannot pull books from our shelves for patrons. Books on the shelf are first come, first served.

If a book is checked out, we can notify you when it is returned and you will be the next person in line for the book. You cannot put a hold on a book yourself; you'll need to contact the Check Out Desk. 

Please visit or call the Check Out Desk at Sturgis Library (470-578-6202) or Johnson Library (470-578-7276) to place a hold on a book. 

Once the book is returned, we will place it on the hold shelf under your name. You will receive an email through your KSU email. Make sure to bring your KSU ID with you to pick up the book.

You can also request a book from one KSU Library to be delivered to another KSU Library (i.e., you can pick up a book from Johnson Library at Sturgis Library).

If we do not have the book you need, you can request the book from another library in the University System of Georgia via GIL Express.
